Investigations

Every felony case originating from the Sheriff’s Office is reviewed by an investigator. They conduct interviews of suspects, witnesses, and victims; they conduct crime scene searches, book and maintain custody of evidence, develop and maintain informants, conduct computer voice stress analyzer examinations, and supervise and conduct investigations of a wide variety, everything from misdemeanor theft to murder.

They also serve as a supplement to the road patrol when responding to crimes in progress and when performing special details.

Please take special note: law enforcement officers rely on the community they serve to provide information regarding criminal activity. If you have information about a past crime or some ongoing illegal activity, please contact the Sheriff’s Office at 912-564-2013 and ask to speak to an investigator. All calls will be kept confidential. If you prefer, you can e-mail tips to investigators at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
