Sheriff Kile is asking local church members responsible for the safety or security of church grounds to please be extra vigilant - the Sheriff's Office has received several complaints of suspicious activity near churches and a report of burglary at a church in southern Screven County recently.

Sheriff's deputies continue to carry out our Business and Church check program, and on-duty deputies visit as many churches and closed businesses as they can during the evening and night shifts, but we need your help. If you notice suspicious activity, please report it to the Sheriff's Office immediately at 912-564-2013 or via 911. Remember, you can report suspicious activity without disclosing personal information if you choose, so don't hesitate to call if you even if you wish to remain anonymous.
